Welcome to the drive.
We are not paying four dollars a gallon for regular gas.
Gas Across Colorado Regular $3.991 Mid $4.269 Premium $4.460 Diesel $4.748 (6/13/08 source: AAA)
Not officially.
Our statewide average has not crashed into the four dollar barrier yet, but don’t tell Greeley, Vail, Grand Junction, Durango and Glenwood Springs. AAA says pumps in those places are already over 4 dollars a gallon, no matter which one you choose.
AAA’s fuelguagereport.com says Colorado’s official statewide average for a gallon of regular unleaded is creeping upwards again this morning, but it is stilll just below the magic mark. Over half the country is already paying more than four dollars a gallon for gas.
That is not the worst of it.
Diesel drivers in three states are already paying over 5-dollars a gallon. Hawaii leads the “bend over and take it in the tank” list, where diesel is selling for $5.20 a gallon.
