Welcome to the drive.
This week, the summer repair season really gets going. Here are a couple to watch out for.
I-25 to I-76
You will run into backups as CDOT repairs the expansion joints between the slabs of concrete on the ramp from southbound I-25 to eastbound I-76/70th Avenue for the next week or two. This work, like most road construction, is weather permitting and will take place. Friday and Saturday: Single lane closures can take place between 11 p.m. and 7 a.m. and double lane closures can take place between 1 a.m. and 6 a.m. Sunday through Thursday: Single lane closures can take place between 9 p.m. and 5:30 a.m. and double lane closures can take place between midnight and 5 a.m.
I-70 at Highway 58
Ongoing work on the fly over from highway 58 to I-70 is still slowing you down on the west side. Expect to run into delays as crews continue installing new girders and doing other bridge work in the area.
I-70 between 32nd Avenue and Ward Road: A single lane of eastbound and westbound I-70 will be closed from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday. In addition, two lanes of westbound I-70 will be closed from 9:30 p.m. to 5 a.m. on Thursday. Eastbound SH 58 between McIntyre Street and I-70: Eastbound SH 58 will be completely closed from 9:30 p.m. to 5 a.m. Sunday through Thursday. Detour route: Motorists on eastbound SH 58 will take McIntyre Street to 44th Avenue and then east on 44th Avenue where access to eastbound I-70 is available. Southbound Youngfield Street from 44th Avenue to 35th Avenue: Two lanes of southbound Youngfield Street will be closed from 9:30 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday through Thursday and from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday.
Brighton Boulevard
This week, crews are starting repaving some of Brighton Boulevard. They are working on the stretch from 47th Avenue to 54th Avenue. You can expect delays as you wade past a ton of cone zones, flagmen (and, women), and day and night lane closures. Brighton Boulevard will stay open during this work, which is suppose to wrap up by mid-June.
County Line Road
The rebuilding of County Line Road continues. It is completely closed between University and Colorado Blvd. Get around it by taking University or Colorado north to Dry Creek.
Federal Boulevard
Work on the curbs and gutters along Federal Blvd. is slowing you down between 80th and The Boulder Turnpike. Watch for left lane closures and expect delays while this project continues.
