The Montana Pro Rodeo Circuit has 28 sanctioned events throughout the calendar year. The cowboys and cowgirls compete in eight different events; bareback riding, steer wrestling, team roping (header and heeler), saddle bronc riding, tie-down calf roping, barrel racing and bull riding.
The goal for each athlete is to compete in the 31st Montana PRCA Pro Rodeo Finals held at the State Fairgrounds in Great Falls on January 15-17, 2010. Throughout the year, each competitor’s winnings from the Montana Pro Rodeo Circuit’s sanctioned rodeo’s is totaled to determine their spot in that event’s standings. The top 12 in each event will compete at the Finals for the title of Circuit Champion.
Sanctioned Montana Pro Rodeo Circuit Rodeo’s are hosted across the state, mostly at county fairs. Competing can be very rewarding or long and tiring for the competitors. Especially if they are not rewarded with any winnings. Some contestants will compete at all of the rodeo’s and others will choose, to suit their personal schedules. Their goal is to make the most money possible and ensure themselves a spot at the Finals.
The Montana Pro Rodeo Circuit has two sanctioned events left before the 2009 season ends. This is your last chance to get in on the fun and excitement of the rodeo action.
