Free apps, including Twitterrific, WriteRoom, and TinyGrab

If you are not familiar with MacHeist, they are a website that frequently offers bundle discounts on Mac software. Many are shareware programs from smaller developers, but some are full-fledged commercial releases. Normally the bundles go for $34.99 to $49.99 (for about $400 to $500 worth of software) but today they are offering six apps for free.

They are calling it the MacHeist nanoBundle, and it includes popular Twitter application Twitterrific, along with five other handy applications. My favorite free app in the bundle: WriteRoom, an app that provides a distraction-free writing environment using a black screen and green text (think Doogie Howser’s PC).

The other software included in the bundle is as follows:

ShoveBox - an organizational app that allows the creation of custom storage locations that can be set up with smart filters.

TinyGrab - a unique screenshot sharing program that allows users to take screenshots and upload them to an FTP server for easy sharing all in one fell swoop.

Hordes of Orcs - a tower defense strategy game in which you build walls and towers to defend your village from orcs.

Mariner Write - a streamlined word processor that can be used in place of Microsoft Word (this application will be unlocked when a certain number of free bundles have been downloaded).

If you are a writer, I guarantee you will love WriteRoom. If you take a large number of screenshots to be shared, TinyGrab should help speed up your workflow. I personally have not tried out the other apps, but will certainly do so now that they are gratis. Bottom line, this is free software. Why not give it a try? All that is required is an email address, codes are delivered instantly along with links to download the applications.

Get your free software today at MacHeist.com - The deal will end within one week, so don't delay!

Did you know your PS3 can now stream Netflix movies? Read my article to find out more and how to request a free disc.
