The Possum Trot's namesake poses with race entrants.

Eco-conscious runners will get a chance to help the green movement and get in a great run at the 31st annual Possum Trot 10K and One-mile Fun Run on Saturday, May 30 at the Chattahoochee Nature Center, at 9135 Willeo Road in Roswell. Going green and getting fit have never been more fun!

Proceeds from the race will benefit the Chattahoochee Nature Center's ongoing environmental education programs for youth and adults. The 10K race entry is $23 through May 29 and $30 on race day. The One-mile Fun Run is $15. Race day registration ends at 7 a.m.

The fast, flat course winds along the scenic Chattahoochee River. The race will offer a great training run to prepare for the Peachtree Road Race, as well as provide a flat course for beginners. The eco-friendly event will offer post-race food and celebrations, complete with composable cups and reusable race bags. Race participants will also get a T-shirt and free admission to the Chattahoochee Nature Center grounds.

To pre-register, visit active.com or register in person at a Big Peach Running Company location.
