A warmer and drier day ahead. An upper level ridge over the four corners region is going to lend some help by deflecting the monsoonal flow away from Colorado. This will allow temperatures to increase and decrease our chances of precipitation.
There is still a good bit of surface moisture coming from our wet ground and that is going to help hold temperatures down a touch which is a good thing because as is we are looking at high temperatures near 90. We can’t entirely rule out a thunderstorm or two popping up this afternoon although any that due should be isolated and be of a less wet variety. Gusty winds are likely as the system moves through the area.
We are still on track to make Wednesday the hottest day of the week with little chance of storm activity. Thursday a cold front moves in and that will drop temperatures to the upper 80's. With the cooler temps also will come an increased chance of thunderstorms. Friday we return to temps near the mid 90’s and Saturday and Sunday will continue the 90 degree plus temps, also with a chance of thunderstorms.
