Denver plays host to the 11th annual National Storm
Chaser Convention this weekend.

This weekend Denver plays host to two major weather related events which is good because our weather has been pretty dang boring lately!

First up, the National Storm Chaser Convention which actually started last night and runs through Sunday afternoon.  Whether you are a seasoned chaser or just someone with an interest in the weather, this is an extraordinary opportunity to mingle with and hear from some of the biggest names in severe weather.  The event is in fact organized every year by two of the biggest names in storm chasing - Roger Hill and Tim Samaras.  The convention is at the Red Lion Inn in Parker.  Click here for my previous post on the convention with all the details.  If you go, keep an eye out for me!

Nature Unleashed - Inside Natural Disasters opens this weekend at the Denver Museum of Nature and Science.

and Science.

Running from February 13th to May 3rd is Nature Unleashed – Inside Natural Disasters, a traveling exhibit now open at the Denver Museum of Nature and Science.  The new exhibit will cover the entire gamut of major natural disasters including earthquakes, hurricanes, tornadoes, and volcanoes.  A special ‘Colorado Connections’ section will take a look at the Colorado’s volcanic history as well as the various types of severe weather that affect the state.  Drought, floods, wildfire, blizzards, climate change and tornadoes are all discussed in depth.  This looks to be a great way to spend a cool and cloudy weekend inside.  Click here for the posting I made earlier this week with all the details.
