A few hours ago we discussed the coming Arctic cold that will be invading Colorado late Friday and into Saturday. As we said, despite a brief warm-up on Friday, winter-like conditions will return and bring bitter cold to the Front Range and Denver. Folks planning on attending the Colorado Rockies playoff game on Saturday in particular will want to pay close attention to the coming weather.
The National Weather Service has taken the unusual step of issuing a Special Weather Statement to warn residents of the coming cold.

..If you think today was cold...wait until the weekend...
Much colder air in Canada is poised to drop into Colorado Friday evening and hang around for the weekend. Anybody who has yet to drain or blow out their sprinklers should try to do it Friday...as low temperatures Friday night are likely to drop to around 20 degrees across eastern Colorado.
The front will usher in some snow and freezing drizzle that will linger through the day on Saturday with the heaviest amounts near the Wyoming border. Anyone attending any sporting events on Saturday will want to bundle up for highs in the upper 20s to lower 30s and be prepared for precipitation. The precipitation May end by Saturday evening but any events in the evening will be held with temperatures in the mid to upper 20s. So layer...and bring your hats and gloves to the game.
