We have seen quite an interesting collection of weather since Thursday evening. The rains are of course most notable for those in the metro area. In the mountains there has been snow at higher elevations with the weather being blamed for an accident that shut down I-70 for a time. Trail Ridge Road is currently closed as well due to the weather.
Further out on the plains, in southeastern Kiowa county, a storm spotter reported a tornado on the ground. Radar has indicated other potential chances for funnel clouds and tornadoes across eastern Colorado as well.
The rain will remain with us most of the weekend as we previously posted. Please be aware of the potential for flooding as we mentioned. As of 2:00pm Friday, here are some of the rain totals from across the Front Range:

Updated Saturday, 8/16/08 - Denver officially reached a high temperature of 59 degrees on Friday. This crushed the old record low maximum temperature of 68 degrees set in 1880. Saturday has the potential to do the same.
