Hurricanes and heat

Hurricane Bertha as of 5:00am.
Hurricane Bertha continues to churn in the Atlantic with a small chance of hitting the United States while closer to home the weather begins clearing and the heat returns by the end of the week.

After reaching category 3 strength yesterday, Bertha took a slight shift to the northwest and began to slow down a bit.  The storm currently has sustained winds in excess of 120mph but is a good ways from land at the current time sitting 1,035 miles southeast of Bermuda.  The storm should continue to weaken and currently presents little danger to land.

Here at home hurricanes are of course never a concern for us.  The unstable weather patterns of the last couple of days have moved on and things should start being a bit more consistent on Tuesday.  Tuesday we will see high's in the mid-80's increasing to the upper-80's on Wednesday.  Thursday and Friday have the potential to be scorchers with highs in the upper 90's.
