The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for most of the Front Range including the Denver metro area. Freezing drizzle has started to fall across much of the area and roads are becoming a bit slick out there. Be sure to be particularly careful on bridges and overpasses as with the low temperatures they are going to be icy.
As issued by the National Weather Service:
349 AM MST THU NOV 20 2008
..Winter Weather Advisory in effect until 2 PM MST this afternoon...
The national weather service in Denver has issued a winter weather advisory for freezing drizzle...which is in effect until 2 PM MST this afternoon.
Freezing drizzle will become more widespread across the Denver and Boulder metro areas through daybreak...and then continue through early this afternoon. The most persistent and heaviest drizzle can be expected from Boulder south and eastward across the western and southern sections of Denver.
Morning commuters should allow extra time for the morning commute. Bridges and overpasses may become extremely hazardous with just a thin coating of ice this morning.
A Winter Weather Advisory means that freezing drizzle will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for slippery roads...and use caution while driving.
