Tuesday's beer destination was Rock Bottom Brewery. I once thought of Rock Bottom as little more than TGI Friday's with house-brewed beer. I changed my tune after learning that brewers at individual locations are allowed to be creative and produce quality beers.
Whenever I go to Rock Bottom, I either have their Hop Bomb IPA (a special which has become a semi-regular offering) or whatever seasonal happens to be on tap. While the regular beer lineup is fine, the seasonals are where Seattle brewmaster Josh Dalton shines. This month's offering is the Saison La Chevre, Dalton's take on the Belgian farmhouse style.
Unfortunately, the beer's flavors were hard to detect since it was served ice-cold in a frozen pint glass. I only had twenty minutes of my lunch remaining and forgot a portable heating device, so I sacrificed flavor-profiling and put my head down and drank. As with most beers, I didn't have trouble finishing it. I also had no problem returning to work and being a good little worker bee for the remainder of the afternoon. Thanks, Rock Bottom!
