There's plenty to do over Memorial Day weekend, including big events like SIFF and Sasquatch. As Monday comes to a close and the reality of returning to work sets in, why not attend a Belgian beer and cheese tasting at Brouwer's?

The event is being presented by the Global Beer Network, a California importer of Belgian beers. Global Beer was founded in 1994 by Belgian transplants Johnny and Claudine Fincioen. The company brings forty two Belgian beers from nine different breweries to the U.S. The Brouwer's event is part of Global Beer's cross country road trip from Santa Barbara to Boston and is one of several beer tastings and dinners celebrating their 14th anniversary and East Coast expansion.

The tasting begins at 7pm and consists of ten different beers, each paired with a separate cheese. Johnny will be on hand to discuss the breweries, beers and Belgian beer culture. Tickets are $45 and can be purchased at both Brouwer's and Bottleworks. Here's a list of beers that will be served:

Bavik

Bornem Double

Brugse Zot

Gulden Draak

Kapittel Abt

Petrus Aged Pale

Piraat

Scotch Silly

Troubadour Obscura Stout

Witterkerke
