Denzel Washington is headed back Broadway, as the veteran film actor will star in the August Wilson play "Fences" in early 2010.

Producers Carole Shorenstein Hays and Scott Rudin say the play will open in April.

Kenny Leon will direct Washington in "Fences."  Leon isn't new to August Wilson's work, as he has directed "Radio Golf" and "Gem of the Ocean" on Broadway.

In 2005, Denzel starred in a revival of "Julius Caesar" in which he played Brutus.

Watch the video below to get a behind-the-scenes look at "Fences."
