Apples are almost always  always available in Idaho

Fruits and vegetables are an awesome natural source of sustenance and are abundantly available, right  here in the great State of Idaho. There are limitations on times of year and type, but there's always something ripening and ready for pickin!

A bountiful array of fresh fruits, vegetables, jams and local wines, will be just some of the local products at the Taste of Idaho on September 12th. The venue is being held at the Qwest Arena in Boise, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Not only is this the fifth annual Taste of Idaho, it will also be the second annual Chef's Competition. Four local chefs will be teamed up with local winery's, to demonstrate their recipes and also offer samplings of their finished products.

For a mere $5.00 admission for food sampling, (& $5.00 for wine sampling); this is the perfect opportunity to see many of Idaho's natural food resources. Armed with information gleaned from this event, will hopefully encourage folks to make better healthy food choices and stimulate them to buy locally.

Here's a great link from Idaho Preferred that is a calendar of fruits & vegetables grown in Idaho. Also, here's an article Easy Steps To A Healthier Diet.
