Economy- A myth or mindset?

Good day folks!! We ( a good friend and I ) were sitting the other day at a local breakfast nook ( no, not starbucks!! ) discussing the daily events, when all of a sudden it happened.....Right in the middle of the conversation that dreaded word slipped out....The "E" word....Come on, you know the one I mean-economy!! (Not what you were thinking? )
Anyway, I got to musing about this world we are in now, and have come up with some ideas to pass on to all of you out there. All of us take the economy pretty serious these days, and what better way than to save a little cash is the order of business for the day!!
So, here is some food for thought....I, like so many others, would love to drive around in my V8 powered Camaro all day ( Lord knows I love the smell of burning rubber), but, alas that is not an option these days, even if the price of gas has recently come down!! So, what I will be showing you in the next few segments will be what are lovingly referred to as econoboxes!! Yes, I'm talking small, but affordable cars here, that can realistically be owned by any of us.
Now, I know what you're thinking-that you just can't go tooling around in one, and still maintain that cool outward appeal you have with the Caddy, Lexus, or Lincoln!! You are right. But, saving money is a spot on idea that has come of age. I know many of us just don't have the working capital we'd all like. I can't tell you how many times this man has wished he had more than what he does....So be it.
I'll give you some pros and cons, while still giving you real world facts to make decisions by. I surf the net a lot, and can tell you, there is a glut of big machinery on and in it every day for sale!! The big V8 gas and diesel trucks and SUVs are there daily by the dozens....But, try and by those little ones, and you've practically got to give up gold to get them!! Go figure.....
This world we are in is a brutal and very frank place nowadays. Can we still make it user friendly? You bet!! This writer has seen automotive life from several sides, as in the guy who fixed them, to ( I shake my head over those days...) even being a salesman for a while!! I think that gave me a better taste for what was coming down the pike at us all.
In short, if there are any you'd like to see more than the rest, give me a shout. Otherwise, you can expect to see what will be both name brands and off brands as well, showing up here.
