If you have an interest in nature, the Maryland Naturalist Center (home of the Natural History Society) is the place to be on October 10 from noon until 4 p.m. Founded in 1929, the Natural History Center is home to all things relating to nature including fossils, rocks, animals, plants, weather and insects.

Whether you enjoy keeping exotic pets, studying animals, collecting fossils and minerals or enjoying wild animals in their natural habitats, this event is for you! Fossils, minerals, birds, reptiles and amphibians will be on display. There are extensive shell and insect collections at the center. Some very old plant, animal and insect specimens are preserved in jars or stuffed. There will be live animals on display too.

Experts will be available to answer your nature questions. Come out and discover other people who share your passion for nature.

This event will include activities for people of all ages including face painting and art tables for kids.
You will be able to join the Natural History Society of Maryland, the Fossil Club and/or the Maryland Herpetological Society.

The event is free for everyone. You will have an opportunity to check out the new Maryland Naturalist Center at 6908 Belair Rd. in Baltimore County just north of the city line.
