Whether you're crafty and into carving pumpkins or just want to enjoy the creations of others, pumpkin festivals are a great outdoor fall activity for the whole family.
Weston Pumpkin Festival will take place at the Weston Town Green on October 17, 2009 (rain date October 18, 2009). The festival begins at 1:00 pm, runs until 5:00 pm and includes pumpkin carving, food sales, kids' activities and music. There will also be raffles and a silent auction. The event is capped off with the official lighting of the carved pumpkins at 5:45 pm.
Another fun activity for children will take place in Malden, also on October 17, 2009. From 2:00 pm - 6:00 pm children can have fun decorating pumpkins, making crafts, listening to music and taking pictures with scare crows. Thw October Fun Pumpkin Patch event takes place at the Green Street Park.
Then on October 22, 2009 from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm your family can participate in pumpkin carving at Oak Knoll in Attleboro. The pumpkins carved on this evening will become part of Oak Knoll's Spooktacular
In central Massachusetts there will be great family fun on October 24, 2009 at the Ecotarium where they will be holding their Great Pumpkin Fest. This event takes place from noon to 9:00 pm, and includes hayrides and train rides, lit carved pumpkins, and more. Kids are encouraged to come in costume
