Writer and actor Anna Deavere Smith gives life to author Studs Terkel, convict Paulette Jenkins, a Korean shopkeeper and a bull rider, in this TED ("Technology, Enertainment, Design") conference video of excerpts from her solo show "On the Road: A Search for American Character".
NON-THEATRE ITEM: The TED videos range from soporific to life-transforming. Poke around a bit. I personally loved Tony Robbin's unscripted counseling of Al Gore.
