Taking AdVintage

Murphy Funkhouser in "Crazy Bag"The lovely Vintage Theatre venue (initially founded as "The Avenue" years ago by John Ashton) is one of the best located spots in town. A block away is The Thin Man, one of the best bars in town; St. Marks, one of the best coffee shops in town; and Chada Thai-  which I've been to just once, but was so yummy I nearly fell in love with the man buying me dinner.

Also worth a mention: the brand-spanking-new Vine Street Pub (from the folks who brought you the Southern Sun Pub in Boulder) is right next door to Vintage and serves food until 1:00 a.m.

And if you bust a move, you can try out a night at the Vintage for $5 (by suggested donation) on Wednesday, April 23 at 7:30 p.m. when Chameleon Stage- a collective of Denver's most accomplished playwrights- presents readings of six short plays: "Long Fall from a Corner Office" by Warren Goldie, "Made for Love" and "Piles of Ashes" by Judy GeBauer, "Books on Tapes" by William Missouri Downs, "Raising Winkie" by Steve Hunter, and "Skidding on Butterflies" by Tami Canaday.  www.chameleonstage.com

If you miss out on that opportunity, come back in July for Murphy Funkhouser (a.k.a. "The Woman of the Golden Gams") as she shows off the junk in her trunk in the one-woman show "Crazy Bag".  Funkhouser also offers free workshops to audience members looking to unpack their own baggage into a short comedy. www.crazybag.net
