Once we earn the title of "parent", many times fancy leisurely meals go out the window. There's no trying the newest restaurant the night it opens and for many, Saturday night dinners out don't happen as often as they used to. Mostly because by the time we get through the craziness of finding a sitter, paying for dinner and then paying the sitter, the night out could be right up there with our monthly car payment!
This week, the 4th Annual Long Island Restaurant Week hits Long Island. Organized by Wordhampton Public Relations, Long Island Restaurant Week is a fantastic opportunity to get out to local restaurants without breaking the bank.
The idea is simple: for eight days, Sunday to Sunday, all participating restaurants offer a three-course prix fixe for $24.95 all night, except Saturday when it will be offered only until 7 p.m. Each restaurant offers their own unique menu. you can choose from restaurants in Nassau (including The Carltun, Burton & Doyle Steakhouse and Nick DiAngelo), Suffolk (including Jackson's, Irish Coffee Pub and Honu Kitchen and Cocktails) and on the East End (Cafe Max, Nick 'n Toni's and 75 Main).
