A South Broadway landmark

Open since 1951, Gennaro's Lounge was shuttered since last fall after new owners took over. The stalwart South Denver Italian eatery and watering hole reopened last week. I'm happy to report the food is still good - pasta and pizza - and the old-school vibe intact. Now they have a nice selection of microbrews on tap to complement the PBR, with a daily two-for-one happy hour from 11am to 6pm. And maybe best of all, the neon sign out front is back aglow. They really should apply for landmark status for it.

For more info: Gennaro's is located at 2598 S. Broadway, Denver, 303-722-1044
