Technology is usually making things smaller and smaller but the ReVerb iPod dock from Regen is 35 inches in height. It will boom 60 watts of sound while sporting a backlit LCD display. Eco-friendly, this iPod dock has an integrated photovoltaic panel to get its energy from the sun.

The solar panels are fully charged with access to 20 hours of direct sunlight outdoors or direct sunlight indoors for 40 hours. A full battery will proide enough power for playing loud music for approximately 4.5 hours or 12 hours at normal volume.

The ReVerb has a 13.75 by 19.7 flat panel speaker with stereo drivers and a 6inch by 9 inch sub-woofer with an output of 6 watts. This would be the same as conventional speakers booming out 60 watts.

You might ask yourself what if it's not exposed to that much sunlight? That's why Regen says you can play normal sounding audio for three hours after exposure to three hours outdoor sunlight or six hours indoor. However the ReVerb does have the capacity simultaneously to use both solar power and electricity.

At this point in development, it requires an Apple audio player and supports the AAC format. The audio device is located on top of the system and playback is controlled on the system's outside. The front of the device is 4.56 inches by 1.5 inch backlit LED display located on the front of the Reverb to show visual system.

The Regen ReVerb will be available in April next year will cost US$2,299.
