It seems fitting, somehow, that on National Dog Day, which is today, a pet-related business should grow.
And that's what's happening right here in the Atlanta area, as Georgia's only EPA certified, full-service pet funeral home breaks ground on their newest addition.
Billed to be the largest pet funeral home in the United States, Deceased Pet Care's new building is where their main location has always been, on Peachtree Rd., situated between the Peachtree Golf Club and Peachtree-DeKalb airport. The Mayor of Chamblee, Eric Clarkson, will be on hand for the ground-breaking ceremony at 10am.
As dogs become more a part of the family, more and more people want to provide end-of-life care, which includes not just end-of-life management during their final months, but also arrangements for their remains once they've made it to the Rainbow Bridge. Families are making burial, cremation and memorial service arrangements for their dogs, and companies like Deceased Pet Care offer services that parallel those offered for humans.
So, on National Dog Day, celebrate all that your dog brings to your life. And if you haven't done so already, think about what you want to have happen when your dog is no longer around to make you smile. It's nice to know there are so many wonderful options.
