Dogs get hit by cars. Unfortunately, this is the number one reason dogs get taken to the vet as an emergency case. Sometimes the dog gets lucky, and it's just a glancing blow, Other times, catastrophic injuries occur. And when the owner can't be located and the dog has no identification, if the injuries are very bad, euthanasia is often the choice.
Talia was lucky.
Talia was a stray puppy who didn't have a great life. About three weeks ago, her life got even worse when she was hit by a car. Her one lucky break was that she was taken to PAWS Atlanta. Thankfully their contract veterinarian was there and went over her, cataloging injuries. She had two breaks in her pelvis and a large hematoma on the side of her face. With treatment, care and probably the first regular meals she's had in her life, Talia is getting along just fine, and is healing so well that she will be able to be spayed by the Fourth of July. She's a shy little shepherd mix, probably around 4 months old, is very submissive and will be ready for adoption once the spay is done.
Do you know someone who might like to give Talia a forever home? Maybe you? PAWS Atlanta would love to hear from you, especially since they currently have over a hundred adoptable dogs and cats looking for great homes. Pass the word...Talia got lucky when the car hit her and she landed at PAWS Atlanta, and someone's going to be lucky to have her as their furry friend.
