Did someone say "birthday party?" - Mrs. Bones photo

There's a birthday celebration going on this weekend at Intown Healthy Hound & City Kitty.  They're celebrating their one-year anniversary of serving the pet-loving community in and around Grant Park.  Today there's a vaccination clinic, with Dr. Edwards updating shots for only $60 per animal.  That's a steal, and here's the deal - it's first come, first served, and all dogs must be leashed and all cats must be in carriers.  Then tomorrow, the actual 1-year anniversary, the first 25 dogs through the doors get a piece of doggy-birthday-cake, kitties get Kitty Kissers, and there will be giveaways and surprise discounts all day long.

Tomorrow evening, celebrate Yappy Hour from 5 to 8 at the west Marietta Chicago's on Whitlock Ave.  For just $5 per person, enjoy the patio and the fun - treats and water are provided for all of the dogs, who must be leashed.  There'll be dog-related prizes, too, so grab your two-legged and four-legged friends and join the fun.  This is a fund-raiser to provide shots, spay and neuter services for people who've lost their jobs and are struggling to keep their pets.

And the final tryout for "It's Me or the Dog" is today from 10 to noon at Piedmont Bark.  Leash up your little monster and head over for the fun! 

No matter what you do this weekend, have a fun one, and kiss your dog right between the eyes.
