FOURTEENTH: Nate McLouth almost hits a home run off George Sherrill in his attempt to end it. He leads off the inning by launching one to the warning track in right. Guys are trying to be instant heros now. Small ball certainly isn't working well for either team. Sherrill has his longest outing of the season, now 2.1 innings. . . . two guys who both managers were hoping to avoid using, Scott Kazmir and Brandon Webb, warm up. . . .Webb, who threw 108 pitches Sunday, enters the bottom of the 14th. He can't pitch more than a couple innings. As good as he is, the AL is not going to win this one off him. He dominates his quick inning. . . .you wonder if Tim Lincecum is sitting in his hotel room thinking, "maybe I'm well enough to pitch.'' Imagine if he suddenly shows up in uniform and tells Clint Hurdle that he's good for one inning. . . .Webb doesn't give the AL a chance - 1-2-3.
