San Francisco pumpkin patches
It's the weekend and that is a great time for you and your mate to go visit the local pumpkin patches around the area. It can be a great family event or a fun date. Spend the day visiting the pumpkin patch, carve your pumpkin and then roast the seeds for a delicious snack. Here are some great local pumpkin patches:
- Farmer John's Pumpkin Farm-Located in Half Moon Bay, this is a huge farm that sells several varieties of pumpkins. You can also purchase other great vegetables to create a farm meal. They are open from 9:30 a.m.-6:00 p.m.
- Petaluma Pumpkin Patch- Not only does this farm have a great pumpkin selection but it also has an amazing 4 acre corn maze. It is open from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 10 a.m. -10 p.m. Friday and Saturday. The day maze is open from 10 a.m.-5:30 p.m. and the farm charges a small fee to walk through it.
- G & M Farms- This farm located in Livermore Valley, is just a short drive away. It is famous for it's 6 acre cornfield maze that was featured on the David Letterman show. After you walk through the maze you can purchase huge pumpkins, Indian corn and fresh produce. The farm is open Saturday 10 a.m-10 p.m. and Sunday 10 a.m.-8 p.m. A cornfield maze ticket cost just $10 for an adult.
- Webb Ranch- You will be able to find Webb Ranch pumpkins and organic pumpkins at this farm. They also have fun hay rides ($5) and a spooky haunted house ($3). The pumpkin patch and Halloween events are open from 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
- Rodoni Farms- Come out to this Santa Cruz farm and pick out your own pumpkin, enjoy the corn maze and have a nice picnic. The farm sells tons of fresh produce at great prices. The pumpkin patch is open everyday from 9 a.m. to dusk.
