The road to Bryant Park has been paved for three of Project Runway's Season six designers. With Chris and Gordana auf'd, the final three have been selected: Althea Harper, Irina Shabayeva and Carol Hannah Whitfield.

While Gordana 's beautifully anjelic dress was the only one that really exhibited interpretation from her inspiration (a Monet painting), the judges felt that they never got a clear sense of who Gordana was as a designer. Strangely enough, viewers were able to see Gordana's skill in tailoring and making simplicity beautiful again. Maybe the judges forgot about the locality challenge, where Gordana created the elegant necklace dress or the wedding dress challenge where she transformed a divorcee's old gown into a sleek and sexy grey number. Gordana always put her heart into her work, and it would have been interesting to see how she could incorporate her practicality (using onion skins for color, etc.) into her designs.

Christopher..Christopher..Christopher..Crying does not a designer make. Have you learned nothing from season four contestant Ricky Lizalde? Although the top half of Christopher's design was well-crafted, the super long skirt looked heavy, rough, and out of place, and the judges agreed. Christopher was on a downward spirl starting week seven when his designs ranked bottom three for that week and those that followed.

Carol Hannah's dress was lovely, but didn't really embody the French bed she chose as her inspiration. Quite the antithesis of Christopher, Carol Hannah's path trended upward after her win in week nine, as her designs put her in the top 3 each week. Probably the most consistent designer this season, Carol Hannah's place at Fashion Week was evident.

Anyone else wonder why Irina loves eating disorder chic? Several of her designs, (it seems like all of them since they started repeating themselves) involved big oversized sweaters or jackets, and her final dress was a huge piece of fabric slung over a tiny model and tied with a mock belt made of rope. What is she hiding under there? While her designs look nice coming down the runway, they leave a bit to be desired on the practicality scale. From early on though, it was apparent that Irina was a judge favorite and her place at Bryant Park has been secured.

Althea spent most of season six being "in" and kind of under the radar. It wasn't until after the less than par designers had been weeded out that ALthea really began to shine. The judges loved her menswear inspired look in week four so much that they chose its companion design as the winning piece in week eleven. Good thing she made an impression on the judges early because her final piece could have ended it all for her. If week twelve was the beginning, Althea would've been "out", but the judges knew she could produce better quality work.

Now it's up to the remaining three designers to create a twelve piece collection that will be shown at Bryant Park during Fashion week. One day you're in....the next day you're out.
