The Denver area has a good selection of paint your own pottery stores. This is a fun venue with a simple concept. The store provides you with a wide selection of fired pottery. You choose and pay for the one you like and paint it yourself. There are vases, ashtrays, bowls and statuary within the price range of just about anyone.

The pottery can be painted in or out of the store. There is usually glaze available as well. Glaze is a type of paint that must be fired after painting. Finished pieces look much better with glaze, as it bonds to the surface of the pottery. If you decide on paint, a glossy spray acrylic as a final coat will mimic the look of glaze.

Paint your own pottery stores appeal to children, professional artists, and just about everyone else. Spend a fun and different kind of date night at one of these creative stores. Painting on pottery is mentally therapeutic, as are most art forms. What a great, stress free way to spend an evening with an elderly parent or best friend.

Most paint your own pottery stores offer classes. It's also possible to book a group painting event. Paint your own pottery store parties are popular with all age groups but especially nice for kids. I recently heard about a new paint your own pottery store that is involved with charity events. They offer the same type venue as other stores but also contribute to the community.

The name of this creative store is Color Me Mine. The new store is a second location for them. It will be located in the new Streets at Southglenn Plaza. Their first location is in Lowry Town Center. Color Me Mine offers parties, kids painting parties, ladies night, birthday parties and more. They also hold fund raising events for various organizations.

The current project for Color Me Mine is a tile wall to benefit the Arapahoe Library. Participants purchase and decorate tiles for the wall. The cost per tile is $25.00. Each participant receives a t-shirt and is invited to the unveiling ceremony for the wall. If you are interested in decorating and donating a tile for the wall call 303-798-3021.
