As we enter into the thick of this holiday season, we see people out an about, warming the cockles of the hearts with Pumpkin Chai Lattes, and enjoying the thick and creamy goodness of Eggnog.
But what about those of us who stay away from lactose and and eggs? How are we supposed to enjoy the drinkable goodness that is so indicative of the holiday season?
As we are firmly planted into the 21st century, more and more options become available to us. For example, you can get your Pumpkin Chai Latte made with soy milk, rather than whole, 2%, 1% or skim. However, why stop there?
Silk, one of the foremost leaders in soy milk production and distribution, has created a variety of seasonal soy milk in flavors. My personal favorite is their Pumpkin Silk, but then again, I enjoy all thigs delicious, orange and pumpkin. If that's not so much your thing, I'd suggest trying the SilkNog, the vegan version of Eggnog. Both flavors are delicious with a sprinkling of nutmeg, cinnamon, or even pumpkin pie seasoning on top. Another great flavor that is available more than just seasonally is the soy Chai. Great hot or cold. Check out all the flavors here.
You can also mix regular or vanilla soy milk with spices (anything that reminds you of the holidays!) to make your own drink. Another great alternative for those who likes their drinks more clear than creamy is hot apple cider - use a full length cinnamon stick as a straw for a little extra kick!
So grab yourself something warm or cold, spiced or smooth, to send down your throat. Then sit back, relax, pop in "It's a Wonderful Life," and enjoy your Denver holiday experience.
