There are several Earth Day celebration events throughout Atlanta that will extend from today through Sunday. Whether you spend a day in the Atlanta Botanical Gardens relaxing in nature and appreciating the beauty or actively gardening to grow your own food, herbs and flowers, get outside!
One of the best attractions in Atlanta is the Atlanta Botanical Gardens. They are conveniently located by Piedmont Park and have ample parking. The ABG holds events daily with summer camps, adult classes, tours, clubs and more.
This year, the Garden is celebrating Earth Day from 9 am to 7 pm today, Wednesday, April 22. Make it a field trip with the family to enjoy fun, earth-inspired activities. The Garden features drop-in exploration stations and opportunities to learn about the Garden conservation program for frogs, orchids, carnivorous pitcher plants and more. Staff scientists will be on hand to answer questions.
For the kids, Mother Nature will make a guest appearance in the Children's Garden Amphitheater at 10:30 & 11:30 a.m. For the adults, garden staff, volunteers and environmental groups such as Trees Atlanta will be available to share information on green living and gardening. Half price admission to the Garden will be available all day.
