Mariah Carey: "I was emotionally and mentally abused."

Mariah Carey has always been coy about her previous marriage to Sony mogul Tommy Mottola, but with a little coaxing by Larry King she opened up a bit about what she considers abuse. Larry King was bringing up the relationship between Chris Brown & Rhianna. Here is what she had to say:
"Abuse has several categories," Carey answered King.
"You've been emotionally abused?" King questioned.
"Emotionally, mentally ..." Mariah said.
"Why is it hard to get out of it?" King continued
"Well, it's scary," she said. "You know I just think you get into a situation and you feel locked in if your situation is similar to one of the situations that I've been in which I won't harp on."
"No you don't have to, but it is hard to get out?" he asked again.
"For me, to really get out it was difficult because there was a connection that was not only a marriage but a business thing where the person was in control of my life," Carey added.
One needs to remember that Tommy Mottola was the one who not only managed Mariah's career but also helped skyrocket her to stardom. She always said she was young & felt trapped in the marriage. Hopefully, for her now, she has found true happiness with Nick Cannon.
