Drudge Report posted tonight that President Obama has agreed to do an interview with the FOX News Channel on his Asia tour. The Web site states, "Obama Grants FOXNEWS Interview — Day After Anita Dunn Steps Down… MORE…DRUDGE has learned, Major Garrett will conduct interview in China next week…"
The Huffington Post reports that after David Clemente, FOX News Executive, met with Robert Gibbs, White House Press Secretary, tensions cooled and an interview was granted by White House Senior Advisor, David Axelrod last week.
FOX News Sunday with Chris Wallace was ignored from the president's Sunday media blitz a few months ago and according to The New York Times, the White House "informed Fox News not to expect to bump knees with the president until 2010."
The interview has not yet been confirmed. When asked about the interview, the White House told Politico, “We’ve not committed to doing any presidential interviews during the trip to Asia with any outlets at this point,” and Drudge’s report is 'not accurate.'"
Rasmussen Reports that only 21% of Americans believe news reporters are fair and balanced in their news coverage of political figures. (It doesn't matter if it's FOX, ABC, NBC, or CNN. This poll speaks for all news networks.)
Time will tell if this report about a FOX News interview is true. However, it's about time Obama talked to The FOX News Channel.
