Sex, drugs and rock and roll seemed to be sorely missing from the angst ridden rock scene in 2005. When Hinder released Extreme Behavior the discs first single titled “Get Stoned” was the perfect rock and roll anthem, causing teens to pump their fists to the rhythmic chants of “Get Stoned!” Slowly but surely the band built a following through constant touring, playing with arena bands like Nickelback and headlining several club tours. Hinder scored a number one hit with “Lips of an Angel” and the opus went on to go triple platinum.
During the tour I caught up with Hinder on two distinct occasions. The first time was an interview I conducted backstage in the middle of a pot smoke filled room; the second was on the bands tour bus in a stripper filled room.
Many have compared the band reckless abandon to early Aerosmith while others have discounted them as a pop/metal flash in the pan. Still, the bands latest release Take it to the Limit has already produced a top five single while concerts on the Jagermeister Tour have been steadily selling out.
