Little by little, the phat cats at the oil companies are gently raising gas prices in hopes of drawing little to no attention. Still, we’re far better off right now then we were last year. Nevertheless, I’d like to introduce you to a car that you during this brief reprieve, you may not have otherwise taken a second look at owning. And if you dare to move beyond these words and go for a test drive, you many find yourself owning one!

While Nissan enthusiasts are focusing their attention on such amazing performers as the new Nismo 370Z, the legendary GT-R, or America’s beloved Altima, the Sentra is holding court on the down low. Seriously, I was blown away by the features, advantages and benefits of this whip! For example, the new clean, cool exterior design is definitely a step up from the budget look of yesteryears. On the interior simplicity is defined by a clean dash with the gear shift located in the center. Convenience is having an auto down and up window switch, voice command to make your spoken wish the car's command, Bluetooth connection for your phone and a leather wrapped steering wheel that tilts. As for your three passengers tagging along, they too will find comfort and great personal space to coincide with the luxury of leather appointed seats, their own armrest with cup holders between the two rear seats and satellite radio. And for an additional $850 Nissan will throw in a power moon roof with tilt and slide features, a heated driver’s seat, and dual illuminated vanity mirrors as part of the Premium Package.

The four cylinder, 140 horsepower engine boasts ultra low emissions for the sake of global green and in no way feels power deficient, which ought to keep the “when are we gonna get there” questions to a minimum. On the highway the ride was sound, secure and never flimsy feeling. Driving all by myself I had the pleasure of taking a corner or two as though I was in a Maxima. Although the Sentra is no match, she held her own and nonetheless did just fine.

All in all, Sentra's a great choice for a small family keeping expenses on the low, a student, or young adult, or with some clean 18" rims it might even be something nice for a man, or woman of means to play around in just for fun. I dare you to test drive one today!
