Bravo
Local designer Kristin Hassan will compete on Bravo's "The Fashion Show"

President Obama and Oprah aren't the only Chicagoans getting face-time on TV. If you tune in to Bravo TV with any regularity, you may notice that Windy City natives are taking the spotlight on a few of its series, including a new one about fashion.

  • Jimmy D'Ambrosio on "Millionaire Matchmaker: The owner of swanky nightclubs Suite Lounge and Citizen Bar looks to professional matchmaker Patti Stanger to find true love. The show originally aired at the end of March, but it seems like you can flip to Bravo at pretty much any hour and view Jimmy D's talking-about-himself-in-third-person antics. Stanger says he'll need to "take the cock out of cocky" to find the right woman. On the show, he attends a mixer with a handful of beautiful women and takes one out to dinner in LA. This Sun-Times article has the skinny on whether or not his date panned out.
  • Rick Bayless, Art Smith and Graham Elliot Bowles on "Top Chef Masters": Twenty-four star chefs compete in the ultimate cook-off during six episodes, battling four at a time. The winners of those six challenges then go on to compete four more times before the Top Chef Master is crowned and their favorite charity lands a check for $100,000. Former "Iron Chef America" judge Kelly Choi will host. The show premieres June 10 at 9 p.m.
  • Kristin Hassan on "The Fashion Show": What's the difference between "The Fashion Show" and ex-Bravo series (soon to be on Lifetime) "Project Runway"? Well, first Isaac Mizrahi replaces Heidi Klum as host, but it also takes a cue from "Top Chef," with its own version of  a "Quickfire Challenge" (called Harper's Bazaar Mini Challenge and judged by the magazine's Special Projects Director Laura Brown) in addition to the elimination challenge. Illinois Institute of Art graduate, Kristin Hassan, who recently completed the esteemed Macy's Fashion Incubator program, will compete against other designers for $125,000 cash and the chance to have their lines sold commercially. Check out Hassan's eco-friendly organiK Revolution line here. It premieres May 7 at 9 p.m.
