Visiting a dog beach offers both the dog and owner a nice change of pace from the routine walks in the neighborhood with new smells, new dogs and water to keep everyone cool in the summer heat. Long Beach’s Dog Zone, as it is affectionately known, is a favorite for many Angelenos and their dogs.
The Dog Zone is a 3 acre off-leashed, unfenced area of Long Beach. The Dog Zone is denoted by the bright orange construction cones and has been the setting of many fun afternoons. In addition to the views of shoreline and fun in the sand, there is ample meter parking. With literally 800+ parking spaces, one can usually get in and out easily. Just don’t forget the coins.
The citizens of the Long Beach’s Dog Zone have compiled a comprehensive list of rules and guidelines to ensure the safety of all, which is a great foundation for any dog friendly venue. Please make certain to know the rules before visiting, and above all honor them.
