Grab your walking shoes, your pup and join Chicago’s Dachshund Lovers, team Hot Dogs: Chicago Style, as they participate in the 15th Annual Bark in the Park. The walk takes place Saturday, May 2nd and I hope you can be part of the team. Last year the team, which included Rufus and me, raised an incredible 20 thousand dollars for the Anti-Cruelty Society and took home the team challenge award for the second year in a row.
I’m an Angeleno and Los Angeles is my home, but I recognize the opportunity to contribute to our dog community at large is not limited to just my city. Rufus and I visit Chitown annually and Chicago is considered among one of the top three dog friendliest cities in the nation after Los Angeles and New York. Since I have many friends in the city, Rufus and I took the weekend to visit them while doing our part by raising money and walking for Chicago’s Anti-Cruelty Society.
If you can’t make the trip, which I totally recommend, you can still make a donation and spread the word. Remember as dog owners and dog lovers we must come together as a nation to increase awareness and to stop our pet overpopulation, pet abandonment and the senseless abuse of our dogs, cats and other beloved pets.
Rufus and I had such a wonderful time last year in Chicago and felt honored to be part of the winning team. We wish Kim Schiro and team Hot Dogs our very best on making it a three-peat.
