Watching TV’s special Sunday event, HBO had exclusive access to a special Lincoln Memorial inauguration celebration, featuring many celebrities and most importantly a message of change from our next president and vice president I was moved. Today is Martin Luther King, Jr. Day and on a day when many people have it off from work, more Americans than ever before are celebrating the day by volunteering and being of service to our communities.

Regardless of your political learnings or your beliefs do something today. Go out and volunteer at your local shelter, make a donation to your favorite rescue organization, write a letter to your city council person requesting LA be a “no kill” city or do any random act of kindness in honor of our collective future and in the name of change. The world can and will be a better a place with our help.

Man’s best friend is also part of the hope that makes us all a strong and loving nation.
