Carnival Pride

In the last article, the basic stats of the Carnival Pride were discussed. In this one, we give you a slide show of many of the rooms, along with some other information.

The Normandie dining room is where you'll be feasting for most of your meals. Traditional main and late seatings are available, as well as "Your time Dining". For the Your Time Dining program, no reservations required. Dine in the main dining room anytime between 5:45 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. Guests are usually seated within 20 minutes on a first-come, first-serve basis, depending on party size. Parties of 10 or more may need to be accommodated at different tables.

As an alternative, you can eat at David's Steakhouse. David's features a Manhattan-chic setting and mouth-watering USDA prime beef cooked to your exact specifications. Or choose from a fantastic selection of seafood entrees, gourmet appetizers and extensive wine list. Note: There is a charge of $30 per person to eat in David's and reservations are required.

Besides those two fantastic locations, you can always go to the Mermaid Grille on the Lido deck where a buffet is available. You'll also find the 24-hour pizza parlor there along with the 24-hour soft serve ice cream machines.

Contrary to what some people will tell you, there is more to a cruise than just eating. The Taj Mahal show lounge is where you will be entertained nightly. The lounge features Broadway-style revues, comedians, and other nationally known acts. The Butterflies Lounge is where you'll be able to participate in karaoke, and find other entertainment acts in a more intimate setting.

There are many lounges and bars, most of which have entertainment of some kind. Two of those that are pictured are the Renaissance Grand Atrium bar and the Ivory Piano bar.

When you are ready to be pampered, head to Spa Carnival. Here you can get massages, facials, body wraps, use the steam room and sauna, and even get an accupunture treatment. After you've been walking all day on shore, a massage really feels good.

For adults, you can try your luck in the Winner's Club casino. Whether your game is blackjack, Texas holdem, roulette, craps, or you just want to play slots, the Winner's Club has your game. As an aside, if you were worried that the casino would be closed while cruising in Chesapeake Bay, worry not. The law says that the ship must be in or headed to International waters. The State of Maryland has interpreted that once the ship clears under the Key bridge, it is headed to International waters and thus the casino can open.

Your children will have plenty to do whether they are in Camp Carnival, Circle "C", or old enough to visit Club O2. All children are supervised by staff who have experience and/or education in child-care. From movies to video games to sports and more, your kids will meet others their age. Perhaps your families will get together on land or for future cruises too.

There is even more that is available, but not enough space in this article. Please ask questions if you have them. With the next article we'll take a look Royal Caribbean's offerings from Baltimore.
