Wear red and support research and education about women and heart disease. American Heart Association wants you to join in the fight against heart disease. Heart disease is a number one killer among women, yet it's not the most talked about or heard of...which is probably breast cancer. Susan G. Komen's breast cancer supporters have done a phenomenal job of getting the word out about getting mammograms, doing monthly self breast exams, and raising money for a cure. Yet, heart disease is a number one killer amongst women.

This is from the American Heart Association website and I encourage everyone to check this out. Once you read it, educate someone else or pass the link on...whatever gets the message to the most people.

"Heart disease isn't just a man's disease. Heart attack, stroke and other cardiovascular diseases are devastating to women, too. In fact, coronary heart disease, which causes heart attack, is the leading cause of death for American women. Many women believe that cancer is more of a threat, but they're wrong. Nearly twice as many women in the United States die of heart disease, stroke and other cardiovascular diseases as from all forms of cancer, including breast cancer. "
