'The X Factor': Simon Cowell accused of rigging results

Simon Cowell, creator and lead judge of The X Factor, is being accused of rigging the results of the show.  

Reality TV World reports;

The accusations surfaced after Cowell -- who created the British reality singing competition and also serves as its lead judge -- decided against saving Lucie Jones during this weekend's The X Factor broadcast and instead cast his vote for twins John and Edward Grimes despite his previous repeated criticism of the them during the ITV show's sixth season.

The UK's television industry regulator, Ofcom, is considering launching a formal investigation after it received more than 50 viewer complaints in less than 24 hours.  "There are a number of complaints we are looking into," a spokesperson for Ofcom told Britain's The Daily Mail.  This is the second week in a row that Ofcom has been contacted about a deadlock that Cowell has created.

Cowell has previously heavily criticized the Grimes twins, saying "If they win, it will be a complete and utter disaster...I'll probably sulk for about six months and get on a very fast plane out of the country." He is now being criticized for keeping them because they are a "money-making novelty chart act."
