True Blood, the TV series produced by out writer-director Alan Ball and broadcast on HBO, will begin filming its third season in December with the show airing in June 2010. The show is based on the The Southern Vampire Mysteries novels by Charlaine Harris. It is produced by HBO with Ball's , Your Face Goes Here Entertainment. production company. It premiered on September 7, 2008.

True Blood tells stories about vampires and humans in Bon Temps, a fictional small Louisiana town. The series centers on Sookie Stackhouse (Anna Paquin), a telepathic waitress at a bar, who falls in love with vampire Bill Compton (Stephen Moyer).

Advocate writer lesley Goldberg spoke with Ball about the series and what to expect in season 3.
