With the New Year soon upon us, many people like to make New Year resolutions. A great resolution to make is getting in shape. The best thing about this is you can include your dog.

By taking your dog for a walk twice a day, you can improve your heart as well as increase your energy level. The walks are great for your furry friend too. Whether you have a small lap dog or a big dog, they want to spend time with you.

Walks help shed unnecessary pounds off of your dog. A dog that is in shape will decrease their risk of arthritis and can help prolong their life. We all want our best friends to live long and healthy lives.

It is important to be consistent with your walks and to limit the amount of junk food your dog gets. Speaking with your veterinarian about the amount of food to feed as well as how far to walk will get your dog into great shape.
