There is no better gift than a puppy for Christmas. You want to make sure you get the right pup for your family. All puppies are cute, but they are not all the same. It is a great idea to research the breeds you are interested in.

Make sure the puppy you pick out fits into your families lifestyle. If your family likes to be active and go to the mountains your dog needs to be able to keep up. On the other hand if your lifestyle is more sedentary it is better to get a lap dog.

Not all breeds are child friendly, which limits breeds that fit your family especially if you have young children. Some breeds can be very protective of your family and may even mistake playing for attacking.  So make sure you research all breeds before making a decision.

Knowing your breed will make for a very exciting Christmas morning. A happy puppy and a happy family, what more can you ask for?
