In the world of lies, magazines and blogs say the women tell a better story, but men lie more often. Women often say they are not really lying, they are simply telling a complicated form of the truth — or they tell the truth in such a complicated way that a man gets confused and gives up trying to get at the truth.

What do women try to hide?  First and foremost women lie to themselves about love.  They oftentimes convince themselves they are in love because they are afraid “not to be” in love.

How can a man tell when a woman is lying?  She gets mad at you for accusing her  – pouts, throws a tantrum, witholds sex, or refuses to speak with you – even though you may be right and she may be guilty.   Or she becomes overly affectionate.  Ask Men, Why women lie

What do men try to hide? As saw just recently, they try to hide infidelity  Lies in love, marriage, and the Sanford scandal Basically the fact that they are cheating or that they are simply not really invested in the relationship.  But men will also be dishonest about a gambling habit or some other addiction.  Ask Men, lies men tell

How can you you when tell a man is lying?  Oftentimes, he isn’t very good at it. However sometimes men tell little white lies as depicted here in an article by Dr. Joyce Brothers.Lies-men-tell-women

In HER defense and in HIS defense:  It is really about communicating with each other. Oftentimes couples do not communicate well because one or the other explodes and the other person is afraid to tell the truth.  Or one person walks rather than talks. Take a look at your communication style.

What should you do if you suspect you are being lied to?  Instead of buying a story, confront without being confrontational.  And talk to friends!  This is one time you should not be relying on your own judgement.  If your friends think you are being duped even after what you think is a plausible story — you probably are living in LaLa Land.
