
The year he fell in love with and married Brooke Shields, the famed tennis player Andre Agassi was using crystal meth, so says the soon-to-be released autobiography.
According to the Times Online (UK) Agassi, now 39, relates how he took crystal meth — possession of which carries a maximum five-year jail sentence in the US — in 1997, when his form was falling and he was having doubts about his impending marriage to the actress, Brooke Shields. Although the couple were married, the marriage was short-lived. Brook Shields often talked about what a terrific father Agassi would be, a story in 1999 in People.com noted, "Apparently, what she was getting from Andre was a good portion of grief. Shields is extremely reticent about her personal problems . . .according to a People source, " 'Even when times were good, if she didn't pay attention to him right away, there was a problem.
