If Ann and Nancy Wilson were the 'Heart', then guitarist Roger Fisher, bassist Steven Fossen and drummer Mike Derosier were the band's soul...

The trio, along with the addition of producer / guitarist, Howard Leese, provided the strong musical foundation for Heart's four amazing albums from 1976 - 1978, “Dreamboat Annie” "Little Queen", "Magazine" and “Dog and Butterfly” . Those beautifully crafted records became the soundtrack for many a youth back in the days of afros, feathered hair and bell bottoms. Some would argue that those albums still stand out and hold up as Heart's strongest work ever. This writer happens to think that they do.
Fisher, Derosier and Fossen, along with an army of several talented local artists, will be playing together again this Sunday night, October 18th at Big Daddy’s from 6:00 to 10:00, for a show to benefit music education.
As if having the "Heart trifecta" isn't big enough, the legendary Alan White, who has been with “Yes” since 1972, will be doing his thing as well. White is very involved in the local music community. He and his band “The White Sox” have played several shows throughout the region over the years, using his talent and passion for the music to benefit many great causes.
According to Alan White, “Music plays an integral part in our society and is proven to be invaluable in the lives of our children and the education of our youth. Music Aid Northwest is working to raise awareness of this fact and this event is part of that effort. Join us in supporting the Washington Music Educators Association in helping to make this opportunity available to all students in Washington State.”
White also serves on the Music Aid Northwest Board of Directors. Donations will be collected at the event and will benefit the Washington Music Educators Association. Billy Stoops will host the event along with "Junkyard Jane".
