It's been a while since the public has heard from Michelle Williams on the subject of her daughter, Matilda and her late ex fiancee, Heath Ledger.
Michelle Williams, 29, best known for her role as Jen on 'Dawson's Creek' is Vogue Magazine's October cover girl. Inside the mag Michelle opens up about the loss of Heath and raising their daughter with out him.
She says since Heath's death in January of 2008 the paparazzi have been more present in her every day life. “Because he died — it’s so hard to say it, now that it’s a fact — it’s because of this tragedy that there’s more paparazzi. That is hard to be graceful and understanding about,”
With all the paparazzi around Williams says she is forced to explain their presence to her toddler in a way that she will understand. Michelle tells Matilda, “It’s because people really loved your daddy that they want to take your picture, to know you’re all right.”
While Williams says she is still the mourning for her ex, Heath Ledger, she has tried to move on with her life. She began to date director, Spike Jonze, earlier this year, but has since then ended the relationship. “The timing was impossible. I thought falling in love again was the only thing that was going to save me from the pain. This [was an] erroneous idea: It just makes things more complicated,” Michelle said.
Michelle confessed she doesn't really know how to date, being a single mother. But loves the the free time of being single that she can spend with her daughter. “I’m falling more and more in love with her,” she says about Matilda. “And I think she deserves the bulk of my attention. We’re lucky. I can work. She can go to a good school. There’s a lot there for her. And she can know her dad in so many ways, and so many of his friends who will be able to tell her so many stories. His friends, his family — they were a big part of his life, and they will be a big part of her life.”
